Anticipation is building for Rajinikanth's upcoming action drama, Jailer 2, with new details emerging about a rumored 15-minute cameo by acclaimed actor Vijay Sethupathi. The highly anticipated sequel to 2023's blockbuster Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is slated for release on October 15, 2026, and promises to continue the narrative following the first installment's events.

Sethupathi's Brief but Impactful Role

Reports suggest Vijay Sethupathi has allocated a two-day call sheet for his appearance in Jailer 2. He is said to have filmed for one day in Chennai and another in Goa, with his total screen time reportedly amounting to around 15 minutes. While Sethupathi himself previously confirmed his cameo in the film, revealing he broke his personal "no-cameo" rule specifically to appear alongside Rajinikanth, the exact duration of his role remains an unconfirmed report.

Star-Studded Ensemble and Antagonists

Much like its predecessor, Jailer 2 is expected to feature a host of other prominent cameo appearances, with Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Hrithik Roshan also rumored to make special appearances. Rajinikanth will reprise his iconic role as Muthuvel Pandian. Beyond the cameos, the film's main cast includes Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, SJ Suryah, and Suraj Venjaramoodu in pivotal roles. Recent glimpses from the film have highlighted Suraj, Suryah, and Vidya, who are widely anticipated to portray antagonists in the sequel.

What's Next for the Stars

Following Jailer 2, Rajinikanth is set to star in Dharman, a project co-produced by Kamal Haasan under Raaj Kamal Films International. Initially planned with Sundar C and Cibi Chakaravarthi, Dharman is now being directed by Ashwath Marimuthu and will also feature Simran, Raashi Khanna, and Yogi Babu. Rajinikanth is also expected to reunite with Kamal Haasan for the tentatively titled KHxRK Reunion, which will again be helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar.

Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi has a busy slate ahead. He will next be seen in Mysskin's directorial, Train, and Puri Jagannadh's Slum Dog: 33 Temple Road. Additionally, Sethupathi is slated for a key role in the STR-led Arasan and will also feature in Pocket Novel.
