Recent speculation suggesting a disagreement between superstar Rajinikanth and director Ashwath Marimuthu on the set of their upcoming film, Dharman, has been firmly refuted by the actor's team. A representative clarified that Rajinikanth is both content and comfortable during the production of the movie.
Rumors Dismissed by Rajinikanth's Team
The rumors, which reportedly originated from a social media post that has since been removed, hinted at an uncomfortable atmosphere on the Dharman set due to alleged friction between the lead actor and the director. However, a member of Rajinikanth's public relations team directly addressed these claims, drawing on their personal observations from the shoot.
In a statement initially shared in Tamil, the representative declared the information "completely incorrect." They further emphasized, "I have witnessed firsthand over many days of shooting that Thalaivar feels very comfortable and happy working with director Ashwath, thanks to his dynamic working style." The team member also confirmed that the film's production is "progressing well, rapidly, and excellently."
Dharman's Production Journey
Dharman, previously known by its working title Thalaivar173, has garnered significant attention even before its release. Ashwath Marimuthu was officially announced as the director in June, following two prior changes in directorship for the project. The film is scheduled for a January 2027 premiere.
The movie's cast includes Simran, Raashii Khanna, and Yogi Babu in prominent roles. The initial promotional image has already sparked curiosity among fans, depicting Rajinikanth in blue medical attire, holding a surgical scalpel, suggesting an intriguing premise.
What's Next for Rajinikanth
Prior to Dharman, Rajinikanth is set to return to the big screen with Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer 2, which has its release date marked for October 15. The sequel will see Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, and Mirnaa reprising their roles from the original hit. Additionally, the film is set to feature special cameo appearances from Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal, Hrithik Roshan, and Jackie Shroff.
New additions to the Jailer 2 cast include Vidya Balan, SJ Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Anna Rajan, and Jatin Sarna. With two significant projects on the horizon, fans of the superstar have much to anticipate as Rajinikanth maintains his busy schedule in the film industry.
