Anticipation is building for Rajinikanth's upcoming action-drama sequel, Jailer 2, as the film prepares to release its second single, "One Sun One Moon," on September 25, 2026. This new track is expected to further hype the movie, which is scheduled to hit theaters on October 15, 2026.
New Music and Promo Tease
The announcement of the new single was accompanied by a fresh promotional video featuring director Nelson Dilipkumar and music composer Anirudh Ravichander. In the lighthearted clip, the filmmaker is seen requesting an "international-style mass track featuring elements of Rajinikanth and Jailer" from the rockstar composer. The promo strongly hints that the song's title, "One Sun One Moon," will expand to include "One Superstar," drawing a direct connection to Rajinikanth's memorable dialogue from his classic film, Baasha.
Jailer 2 continues the narrative from the highly successful 2023 blockbuster Jailer, with Rajinikanth reprising his beloved role as Muthuvel Pandian.
Star-Studded Cast and Cameos
Beyond Rajinikanth, the sequel boasts a formidable ensemble cast. Key roles are filled by veteran actors Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, S. J. Suryah, and Suraj Venjaramoodu. Recent glimpses of Suraj, Suryah, and Vidya have been shared by the makers, with these actors widely expected to portray antagonists in the film.
The film is also set to feature a host of prominent stars in special appearances, including Hrithik Roshan, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Vijay Sethupathi, further elevating the excitement surrounding the project.
Rajinikanth's Busy Slate
While fans await Jailer 2, Rajinikanth has several other significant projects in his pipeline. His next venture is the action film Dharman, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu. Previously known by its working title, Thalaivar173, this film will see the superstar in the role of a stylish doctor. The cast for Dharman includes Simran Bagga, Yogi Babu, and Raashii Khanna in pivotal roles. Anirudh Ravichander is again handling the music and background score, with Niketh Bommireddy as cinematographer and Pradeep E. Ragav as editor. The action sequences are choreographed by the acclaimed Anbariv duo. While an official confirmation is pending, there is speculation that Ram Pothineni might join the cast as the primary antagonist.
Additionally, Rajinikanth is also slated to reunite with fellow superstar Kamal Haasan for a film currently titled KHxRK, promising another highly anticipated collaboration.
