Fans of Pan-India star Prabhas will need to wait longer for his upcoming period action drama, Fauzi, as its release has officially been pushed from December 3, 2026, to sometime in 2027. Producer Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers confirmed the postponement, promising a cinematic experience on par with the actor's iconic Baahubali films.

A Grand-Scale Delay

Speaking at the pre-release event for Paradise, producer Ravi Shankar addressed the anticipated delay. He stated that “Fauzi is being pushed back a little bit, but it’s a next-level movie.” Shankar further emphasized the film's immense scale, remarking, “You haven’t seen brother Prabhas look so grand since Baahubali. It’s a movie of that scale.” While acknowledging the slight disappointment over the delay, he assured audiences that the film would be cherished for a lifetime, describing it as “such a massive and great movie.”

Although the shift to 2027 is now official, a precise new release date has not yet been announced by the filmmakers. Industry speculation, however, suggests a possible theatrical debut in February 2027.

About Fauzi: Cast and Concept

Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, Fauzi is an epic period drama that casts Prabhas in the role of an officer within a fictional narrative set against a historical backdrop. The project marks a significant debut for internet personality Imanvi, who takes on the female lead role. The ensemble cast also features veteran actors Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, and Jaya Prada in crucial supporting characters.

Prabhas's Upcoming Projects

Prabhas was most recently seen headlining The Raja Saab, a film directed by Maruthi, which also featured Sanjay Dutt, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar. The movie garnered a mixed reception from both critics and viewers upon its release.

Looking ahead, the actor is set to star in the action thriller Spirit, under the direction of Sandeep Reddy Vanga. In this film, Prabhas is expected to portray an officer dedicated to dismantling a large criminal network. Triptii Dimri will appear as the female lead, with Vivek Oberoi cast as the primary antagonist. Spirit is currently in production and slated for a March 5, 2027, theatrical release.

Additionally, Prabhas's future lineup includes Kalki 2898 AD Part 2. This sequel is reportedly already underway, and a prominent pan-Indian actor is rumored to be making a special cameo appearance.
