Actor Nani, often referred to as the Natural Star, has voiced strong objections to the "pan-Indian" label frequently applied to films from South India. Ahead of the release of his upcoming action thriller, The Paradise, Nani questioned the selective use of this term, noting a perceived double standard within the Indian film industry.

Challenging the "Pan-Indian" Narrative

Speaking at a recent event, Nani expressed his desire for no film to be designated as "pan-Indian," particularly his own projects. He highlighted that when a Hindi production achieves significant success in Telugu, Tamil, or Malayalam markets, it retains its identity as a "Hindi film" rather than being rebranded. "When we see Jawan or Pathaan doing well in Tamil and Telugu, it is not called pan-India," he remarked, contrasting this with the immediate application of the "pan-Indian" tag to Telugu films that find nationwide popularity.

Nani further elaborated that he has consistently advocated against labeling his movies in this manner. While acknowledging the difficulty in preventing public use of the term, he affirmed his commitment to connecting with audiences across Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages. Despite his approach of reaching diverse viewers, he reiterated his preference for avoiding such linguistic or regional tags on his cinematic works.

Glimpse into "The Paradise"

Nani is slated to star in the lead role of The Paradise, an action thriller directed by Srikanth Odela. The narrative centers on a protagonist who rises to defend his community and homeland against adversity. As he confronts those who threaten his people, the character, Jadal, emerges as a pivotal figure and a symbol of resilience, setting the stage for an intense, large-scale conflict.

A teaser for The Paradise was recently unveiled, showcasing high-octane action sequences. The film features a prominent ensemble cast, including Raghav Juyal, Mohan Babu, Kayadu Lohar, Tanikella Bharani, Sonali Kulkarni, Eeshwari Rao, and Sampoornesh Babu in key roles.

Release Schedule and Production Updates

Initially planned for an August 2026 debut, The Paradise has since been rescheduled for a theatrical release on September 24, 2026, with premieres set for September 23. During a recent pre-release gathering, Nani also confirmed that the film will not be preceded by a traditional trailer release, a somewhat unconventional move for a major production.
