Actor Nani is set to charm audiences with a family-friendly love story, a "subtle and sweet movie" planned after his upcoming action-comedy Bloody Romeo. This shift in genre comes as the "Natural Star" looks to diversify his cinematic offerings following the critical reception of his recent action thriller, The Paradise.
A Shift to Sweet Romance
Speaking about his future projects, Nani confirmed that a romantic narrative is firmly in his upcoming filmography. He shared that once production on Bloody Romeo concludes, he will transition to a love story, describing it as "a subtle and sweet movie meant for all audiences." Nani expressed particular delight in creating content suitable for younger viewers, stating, "Children are always the first to run up to me at functions or public appearances. I'm happy that I'm working on a film that even they can watch." This upcoming venture promises a heartwarming experience accessible to viewers of all ages.
Teasing Bloody Romeo's Style
Before the romantic film, Nani will be seen in the much-anticipated Bloody Romeo, directed by Sujeeth, known for his work on OG. While specific character details remain under wraps, Nani characterized the project as "a very theatrical, stylish experience." He further elaborated on the film's unique blend, noting that Sujeeth "came up with a twist to that which makes it extremely witty, combined with action." This project is expected to introduce Nani to a fresh character and a distinct cinematic world, a departure from his previous roles.
Nani's Cinematic Journey
The announcement of Bloody Romeo took place on Nani's birthday earlier this year. The film's plot and cast details are largely kept under wraps, though Prithviraj Sukumaran is also a potential key player in the film. Nani's most recent appearance was in the action thriller The Paradise, helmed by Srikanth Odela. Set in the 1980s, the film depicted the struggle of the nomadic Savaari tribe, living under the oppressive rule of landlord Shikanja Malik and his son Vikram. Nani portrayed Jadal, a young man who initially resists involvement in his mother Sammakka’s fight against the regime. However, escalating violence compels him to unite his community, leading a rebellion against the Malik empire. After the tyrants are defeated and Sammakka secures recognition for the tribe, she succumbs to her injuries, revealing Jadal's true name as Sarakka. The film concludes with Jadal as the liberator of his people, who finally gain citizenship and basic rights. The ensemble cast of The Paradise included Mohan Babu, Kayadu Lohar, Sonali Kulkarni, Raghav Juyal, Sampoornesh Babu, Easwari Rao, and Tanikella Bharani, with cameo appearances by Keerthy Suresh and Sathyaraj. Anirudh Ravichander composed the film's music and background score.
