Actress and Lovelyz member Jeong Yein has officially been cast in the highly anticipated second and third seasons of the popular medical drama, The Trauma Code: Heroes On Call. She is set to portray nurse Cheon Jang-mi, a role previously held by Ha Young.

Official Confirmation Follows Initial Denials

The news arrives after a period of speculation, with earlier reports this month suggesting Yein's involvement. At that time, her agency had denied the casting rumors. However, on September 29, 2026, details emerged indicating that key cast members, including Jeong Yein, were slated for their first script reading, followed by a cast dinner. A representative from Netflix subsequently confirmed the development, stating, “It is true that Jeong Yein has been selected as the successor to Ha Young for the new seasons of The Trauma Call: Heroes on Call.”

The Role of Nurse Cheon Jang-mi

Yein steps into the shoes of nurse Cheon Jang-mi, a character integral to the series. The role became open after Ha Young, who originated the character in the first season, departed from the drama. Her exit followed allegations concerning her great-grandfather's purported involvement in specific activities. This led the production team to conduct auditions to find a new actress for the beloved character.

Jeong Yein's Expanding Career

Jeong Yein, who first gained prominence as a member of the girl group Lovelyz in 2014, has steadily built her acting portfolio. Her early ventures into the field included the 2017 web drama The Blue Sea and a role in tvN's Criminal Minds. More recently, she appeared in the 2023 series Na Ra the Socialite Wannabe and has also taken on various theatrical productions, showcasing her versatility as a performer.
