Prabhas' highly anticipated period epic, Fauzi, initially slated for a December 2026 theatrical debut, is now reportedly targeting a March 2027 release. This potential shift could have significant implications for another of the star's upcoming films, Spirit, which is currently announced for a March 2027 premiere.
Fauzi's New Release Window and Production Update
Unconfirmed reports suggest March 18, 2027, as the new target date for Fauzi's premiere. Production for the film is reportedly in progress on its interval sequence, with filming anticipated to conclude by mid-December 2026. Furthermore, a teaser for Fauzi is reportedly being planned for October 23, 2026, to coincide with Prabhas' 47th birthday celebration.
Potential Impact on Spirit's Schedule
Should this new date for Fauzi materialize, Spirit, the highly anticipated action film starring Prabhas and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, which was previously announced for a March 5, 2027 release, might face a delay. It's considered improbable for two major films featuring the same star to launch within the same month, suggesting one project would likely shift its release. It's important to note that these dates are currently speculative, with no official confirmation yet from the production teams involved.
About Fauzi and its Ensemble Cast
Fauzi is described as an upcoming period epic, casting Prabhas in the role of an officer within a fictional narrative set against a historical backdrop. The movie also marks the acting debut of internet personality Imanvi in the female lead role, alongside veteran talents like Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, and Jaya Prada in significant supporting parts.
Prabhas' Busy Slate
Prabhas' most recent cinematic appearance was in The Raja Saab, a film helmed by Maruthi, featuring Sanjay Dutt, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar among its ensemble cast. This release garnered a mixed reception from both critics and viewers.
His next confirmed project is the action thriller Spirit, under the direction of Sandeep Reddy Vanga. In Spirit, Prabhas is slated to portray an officer dedicated to dismantling a formidable criminal organization. Triptii Dimri is cast as the female lead, with Vivek Oberoi set to play the main antagonist.
Additionally, Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 is part of his upcoming filmography. This project is currently in production, and reports suggest a notable pan-Indian actor will make a cameo appearance.
